MONKEY BUSINESS

Watched the most amazing programme yesterday called NATURE'S MIRACLE BABIES.  Yes, it's a cheesy title - but it's a remarkable short film about endangered species, which are being bred in captivity.  There are Barbary Lions and beautiful leopards - cute and fluffy little things with a fierce snarl and razor sharp teeth.  There's a very moving live birth of a gorilla at London Zoo.  
The film highlights the care and dedication shown by people who look after animals and it made me fish out this photo of a monkey which I took back in March, when I was staying with friends in Singapore.


Any ideas what to call this monkey?
A glossy hardback novel for the best suggestion.

    Hackneyed perhaps, but has to be Cheeky - he's a spit for the monkey logo of the great new restaurant 'Cheeky's' in Palm Springs. Had a great lunch there last week.

      Cheeky is good choice, Jack - though rather infuriatingly it has started me singing that very irritating song "ooh-ee, chirpy chirpy cheep cheep"!

      In fact I didn't mean a connection! There's no connection with animals' names.
      It's like calling a dog Fluffy only because it's a dog... :-) I don't like that.
      I had an iguana once who was called Iggy (a tribute to Iggy Pop... Coz he was skinny and looked like the animal) - my aunt has a pug called Ginger!

    It loosely based on a Chinese 16th century novel journey to the west and Taoism.
    But Monkey Magic was the theme to the show.

    I remember watching the show with my mum on a Friday and laughing together

    Snooki is very sweet and reminds me of my cousin (it's a long story) so Snooki it is and Desere wins.
