I was on my way to the wedding of the lovely Lucetta who was marrying Glenn at an amazing hotel at Newlands Corner.
And here are the happy couple, having just plighted their troth.....
Ahhhhh!
It was a fabulous wedding - with people of all ages having fun and my enduring memory of the day is one of laughter.

Here's a picture of the cake I made for the newly-weds.
Regular readers of this blog may remember that I also made a cake for Lucetta's mother's wedding (what a lot of apostrophes!) almost a year ago. No-one can say they aren't a romantic family!
And here I am with not only an extravagent confection of feathers on my head.....
But also a handful of golden glitter which was thrown on my hair by my god-daughter!Regular readers of this blog may remember that I also made a cake for Lucetta's mother's wedding (what a lot of apostrophes!) almost a year ago. No-one can say they aren't a romantic family!

Well, it was a glittering kind of day...
Have you done anything glittery recently?
Ooh, not like you have no!It's all been very dull and cold here.
ReplyDeleteI'm extremely impressed with the cake, Sharon, are there no end to your talents? The wedding looked gorgeous and so did you.
Lots of love,
Rach.

Thanks, Rach - it was an amazing day.
ReplyDeleteHow's the writing?
Oh, and your prize-winning book is about to be posted (in case you thought I'd forgotten about it!)
Sharon, it looks like you had a fabulous time. And the happy couple look very much in love. Nice work on the cake!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to something glittery this coming weekend. I'll be attending a wedding reception at the posh Peninsula Hotel in downtown Chicago. I've known the groom for years and his bride-to-be is one of the nicest people I've met. I think it's going to be a spectacular event; I'm looking forward to it.
I am the bride who got married after 11 weeks of knowing THE ONE!!! haha about to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary on New Years Eve!
ReplyDelete2 superlative wedding cakes in less than 1 year Ms. Kendrick - any Christmas Cakes on offer? xx
So glad you had a great day. And what a fabulous hat and cake. You are so talented! Caroline x
ReplyDeletethe cake is so pretty, I bake too but its no where as amazing as that.
ReplyDeleteI love the cake topper too, its hilarious!
Dan - please report back on this wonderful-sounding wedding - using as many superlatives as possible, if you would!
ReplyDeleteHeather, don't push it!
Caroline - thanks for the kind words.
Joaanna - yes, the topper was a hoot. It shows the bride dragging the groom by the scruff of his neck and bought from Jane Asher (she makes great cakes!). And yes, I checked with the bride's mother before I bought it!
Great news on the book prize,Sharon, I'll be stalking the postie!
ReplyDeleteWriting world is going very nicely, learning a lot and will be launching my book in print and Ebook Feb 14th!
Best,
Rach.
