THE RUSSIAN IS COMING!

Just back from Lanzarote - completely knackered, and looking a sort of streaky walnut colour - to discover that the book featuring my FIRST EVER RUSSIAN HERO is at No. 1 on the Mills & Boon chart!
Wooh!
And again.......
Wooh!
Here's the jacket photo of TOO PROUD TO BE BOUGHT.
Lovely, isn't it?

I'll post some Canarian photos later (I seem to have taken a lot of close-ups of pigeons) - after I have given my Sheikh another tweak.

Meanwhile, where have YOU been this week?

  1. Congratulations on the #1 ranking, Sharon! That's fantastic.

Looking forward to the photos from your trip!

This week has been all work and no play. I celebrated a birthday last week and have had my fill of debauchery for a while... My two brothers took me out for a night that I won't soon forget... ...from what I remember.

  2. Brilliant news - well done Sharon.

I've been at the Mitchell Library here in Sydney working(click on my name above for a pic).

If anyone has read Kate Granville's excellent The Secret River and the even better In Search of The Secret River about the research and writing process, it's where the tale starts, beyond the remarkable bronze doors that inspired her ...

ps I'm intrigued - what's the best way to tweak a Sheikh then?

  3. There were quite a lot of pigeons in Costa Teguise when we went now I think about it, Sharon. Did you visit the caves with the albino crabs?

And somehow I seem to have overlooked your Russian!! Heading over to M&B right now - ereader is primed!

  5. Congrats on being #1 in the Mills and Boon chart. It's a great book, I loved it.
I'm looking forward to a day out with writing friends tomorrow, but other than that I've been writing and working on the farm this week. Nothing so wonderful as being in Lanzarote!

  6. Dan - two brothers! Lucky you....I'm a "fille unique" (sounds much better than "only child"!)

Jack - actually, it's the heroine I'm tweaking more than Tariq.

Rach - didn't see the famed teeny-weeny abino crabs cos my daughter steadfastly refused to waste a day's sunshine by sitting on a coach!

Abby - thanks, sweetie - will be interested to hear what you think (but only if you like it!)

Rachael - I am picturing the gentle breeze stirring all those burgeoning green leaves and the little Welsh lambies gambling around the luscious pastures. (Have just remembered you're a dairy farmer - so substitute creamy caramel calves, mooing!)
