No, they aren't rather flat looking mince-pies, but a sweet South American treat called Alfajores which are deceptively light and filled with spiced dolce de leche. To find out why I'm posting random pictures of them, go and take a look at iheartpresents
And in other news, I've just had a book accepted - woot, woot!
CARRYING THE GREEK'S HEIR will be out in April, 2015 and it's about a man named Alekto Sarantos who is one of the most complex and gorgeous heroes I've ever written. At times I felt myself wishing I was Ellie Brooks - the woman who has the tough task of taming him....
They look delicious! I'm more of a savoury toothed man though. Have you ever tried making empanadas? They're like an Argentinian twist on Cornish pasties-- but much smaller and far, far more tasty...

No, Jack - I haven't - but since one of my culinary ambitions is to make a Cornish pasty, then perhaps I'll try empanadas, too.
DeleteLooks yummy. Look forward to reading the new book, next year. I love a greek hero.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sian - let me know what you think. And the good news is that there's another Greek coming right along after Alekto…! :-)
