UK readers - buy this week's WOMAN'S OWN!

where you'll find a short-story called BROKEN TRUST, which I wrote specially for the magazine - and where you can also download one of my books for FREE!

The WO team produced a wonderful set of photos to accompany the story - including one of the hero staring broodingly out of the window, which was exactly as I had pictured it in my mind. (Note to editor - do you think he/she could do one of my book covers?!)

It was stepping out of my normal comfort zone to produce a complete story in 1.500 words, instead of 50,000 - but there's nothing I like more than a challenge!

And since my latest book is proving something of a challenge - please inspire me by telling me if you've tried something different recently....

  1. Short stories are VERY hard to write, Sharon, so well done you!! I'll look out for the mag when I'm in Sainsbury's this afternoon.

  5. We talk about romance so... I'll tell you what happened to me last week. I had a singular experience when I spent the day on the beach and I saw an old man staring at the waves. His glance was lost and he seemed to be waiting for something...I was a bit sad because of a guy when suddenly he said: "If it's true love he'll come back to you". After this, he told me how he lost his first and only love in 1939 during the 2nd World War and he was still waiting for her. She was alive but he didn't know where she lived. His story was moving and remembered me the character of Florentino Ariza in "Love in the time of cholera" (great and powerful story) where he only wants to be with his only love, Fermina Daza. After 50 years he succeeds. I've always thought that literature and life match perfectly sometimes... And we get lost in the beauty of its invisible chain.
