Just when I am looking for a little inspiration which doesn't involve me moving away from my computer (and my current story) - along comes an email from Michela waxing lyrical about her beloved hometown of Napoli.
She was also kind enough to send some photos, and here they are.
This is the most famous square in the city - the Piazza del Plebiscito.

And the famous bay.
By day.

And by night.

Michela also writes:
In Naples we have a "saying": Vedi Napoli e poi muori - its literal meaning is "You see Naples and then you can also die" but, for a Neapolitan man, it means that Naples is so perfect, so beautiful, so amazing... that you just have to see it once then you can die peacefully.

You've convinced me, Michela! Yes, I'm now inspired - but also wistfully wondering when I can get to visit this jewel of a place.

What has inspired you today?

  1. The photos have inspired me - to put Napoli on my wishlist of places I want to visit. It looks stunning and on such a windswept day in Wales I wish I was there now!

  2. The men's fragrance section of Boots today wasn't half bad actually. Fear I may have lingered a little longer than would be considered respectable in front of the Davidoff Hot Water(Alexis Papas) bit though...

When you get to Naples don't forget to hop on the ferry over to Sorrento as well. One visit will never be enough I guarantee it.

  3. I was completely astonished to see the photos of Napoli here! - they create an amazing scenery with your (already wonderful) blog.
And so glad you was inspired by them - hope one day you will breathe "la nostra brezza partenopea".

  4. The post on the Pink Heart Society inspired me. It was lovely. But those photo's are fab though! Take care. Caroline x

  5. Where in Hampshire, Rach?

And I have just googled Alexis Papas.....perfect inspiration. Perhaps I shall post his picture here tomorrow!

  6. Not bad is he?!!!
